About the Job
Huntington Learning Center of Zionsville is hiring a part-time Teacher Tutor for in-person instruction with K–12 students.

This role is best for an educator who wants meaningful student work without the demands of a full classroom. We provide the students, curriculum, materials, and training. You bring teaching skill, reliability, and care for student progress.

Students depend on consistency, so this is not an occasional fill-in role. We are looking for tutors who can commit to the same recurring weekly shifts for at least one semester or four months. Six months, the full school year, or ongoing availability is especially helpful.

Why educators like this role:
  • No lesson planning.
  • No grading.
  • No classroom management.
  • No parent conferences.
  • Curriculum and materials are provided.
  • Paid training and shadowing are included.
  • Predictable part-time schedule.
  • Meaningful one-on-one and small-group work with local students.

What you’ll teach:
  • K–12 reading, writing, and math support.
  • Elementary and middle-school reading and math.
  • Study skills, homework support, and academic skill-building.
  • Foundational skills, confidence, and stronger academic habits.
  • One-on-one and small-group instruction using Huntington-provided curriculum.

Schedule fit we need:
  • In person at our Zionsville center.
  • Two recurring weekly shifts preferred, typically totaling 8–12 hours per week.
  • Same weekly schedule for at least one semester or four months.
  • Planned absences can be accommodated with advance notice.
  • This role is not a good fit for applicants who need frequent week-to-week schedule changes.

School-year tutoring blocks:
  • Monday–Thursday: 4:00–8:00 PM.
  • Saturday: 9:00 AM–3:00 PM.

Summer tutoring blocks:
  • Monday–Thursday: 12:00–6:00 PM.
  • Saturday: 9:00 AM–3:00 PM.

Retired teachers and experienced educators are strongly encouraged to apply. This role is ideal if you miss working directly with students but do not want full-time school demands.

Requirements:
  • Able to work in person at Huntington Learning Center of Zionsville.
  • Able to commit to recurring weekly shifts for at least one semester or four months.
  • Strong communication skills and reliability.
  • Comfortable working with K–12 students one-on-one or in small groups.
  • Comfortable supporting at least one core academic area such as reading, writing, math, study skills, or homework support.
  • Professional, patient, and encouraging with students.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Teaching, tutoring, substitute teaching, or classroom experience.
  • Education degree, teaching license, retired teacher background, or strong subject-matter experience.
  • Comfort supporting elementary or middle-school reading and math.
  • Availability for six months, the full school year, or ongoing.

Pay and benefits:
  • $20.00 per hour.
  • Paid training and shadowing.
  • Curriculum and materials provided.
  • Employee discount.
  • Predictable part-time schedule.
  • Meaningful work with local students.
